All those who have a credit card know that they are target of several scams information. But there are some small rules to follow in order to protect our bank account and not fumarci via our savings because of some Hacker. There are several techniques to “steal” the data and use them for other banking transactions.
The main ones are Phishing, trashing, Sniffing and Vishing.
- Phishing is the typical fake mail with subject: “Rehabilitation of your account, no loan installment paid” or objects of attraction that once clicked require your sensitive data. Banks communicate important information directly at the counter or by mail require a summons in the bank. In any case apply directly to the bank for transactions that asks for sensitive data. The bank does not require sensitive data via e-mail or not.
- The data are taken from the garbage. Found in the trash or your receipts, notes or anything from which you can obtain information. So always drive your receipts and cards with sensitive data.
- Sniffing the practice is a more “fine”, via the network, a hacker “sniff” your data while you entered. Against this system you can enter your firewall, antivirus software created specially barriers.
- Finally, Vishing is a newer practice, there comes a message that informs the phone to call a specific number, which responds to a call center that requires the data of your credit card.
These are just some of the many systems that fraudsters are invented every day to carry the data of your credit card. Always careful, sensitive data are very important and you may find your account dry. Usually your personal data are never formally requested through the back door.
